Master Gregory Spangler, 4th Dan Black Belt
An engineer by profession, with a Master of Engineering degree, Master Spangler has a long history of exposure to multiple martial art styles and instruction: he holds a Water Safety Instructor certification with the American Red Cross, works part-time as a lifeguard, and has worked as an instructor for TNT at Bounce. His study of martial arts however did not start until 1982 after recreational sports and earning his Eagle Scout award. Master Spangler began studying the Japanese art of Aikido and continued the study for the next four years. Following his interest in martial arts after college, he began studying Tae Kwon Do at Rockford Academy in 1992. Shortly after completing his 1st Dan he moved to Michigan and began studying a number of different martial arts while looking for a fit to his interest: Isshin Ryu for one year, Yuejia Kung Fu for one year, and Tang Soo Do for two years. Finally finding an opportunity to study at Bounce - Hartland Sports Center in 2005 in a Chung Do Kwon based Tae Kwon Do program. Working as an assistant instructor and continuing his training, he has since completed numerous seminars and competed in tournaments including the 2008 Tae Kwon Do Nationals that were held in Detroit. Training with his oldest son Jacob, who completed his 2nd Dan in 2012, and his other son Mitchell who will be testing for his 1st Dan in the next year, he continues to study under Grandmaster Ronald Rose, 8th Dan, and completed his 4th Dan in November 2012.
Devon Perrine, 3rd Dan Black Belt
Devon Perrine is not only an Instructor at Bounce Tae Kwon Do, but a recognized instructor through our KTAA affiliate school, Kicks TKD Studio in Wayne, MI. Devon really enjoys all the time he has dedicated to Tae Kwon Do and with the help of Tae Kwon Do has become a more confident and lively person prior to training in martial arts, which has impacted his life greatly. At 8 years old Devon started his first Tae Kwon Do class and from there worked his way up the ranks learning many things and refining old skills. To this day Devon says he is still learning and refining those skills. He remembers as a kid thinking that all martial arts was just about fighting and being able to overpower your opponents, but that is not the case at all. Tae Kwon Do is as much about discipline and control as it is about power. Even though Devon just completed his 3rd Dan Black Belt in November 2012, his journey through Tae Kwon Do is just starting.
Jacob Spangler, 2nd Dan Black Belt
Jacob Spangler began studying martial arts like so many others with a couple of recreational classes because it was an activity and he needed something to do. His exposure led to enrolling in Hartland Tae Kwon Do in 2005 and motivating his father to return and continue his own martial arts career. During the next five years Jacob took some time off to pursue other interests such as being on the swim team and in marching bank, but returned with renewed interest and completed his 1st Dan testing in October 2010. Jacob continues his training now as an Instructor at Bounce Tae Kwon Do, as part of the KTAA under Grandmaster Ronald Rose. Jacob has been recognized as a cerfitied instructor. He also has extended his own studies to include additional techniques, weapons, and more. He spends many Saturdays training with other black belts at our affiliated schools to increase his skills and learning to bring back to his students. Whild instructing at Bounce, Jacob has stayed involved as a certified lifeguard, bag piper for Howell High School playing at school events an for charities, as well as marching band.
